Rice pudding with spiced YOGI TEA® Ginger Orange with Vanilla sauce

We all enjoy a little comfort from time to time, especially on those cosy winter nights, when it’s dark and cold outside or after a rainy day. So we have come up with an alternative to the kitchen staple: a very special rice pudding.

This is a delicious, healthy and easy to prepare dish so a great recipe to try next time you want a sweet treat. What makes it so special and flavoursome is that we use our very own YOGI TEA® Ginger Orange with Vanilla to flavour the orange juice and add sweetness. It is also vegan so great for those of you who trying their hand at veganism this year! Please find all ingredients and method below!  


Ingredients for 4 portions

Preparation time: 30 minutes


For the rice pudding

  • 250 g pudding rice
  • 1 litre almond drink
  • 1 pinch salt


For the orange sauce

  • 4 oranges
  • 1 tbsp corn-starch
  • 3 bags YOGI® Ginger Orange with Vanilla
  • 4 tbsp poppyseed




  • Combine the pudding rice with the almond drink and salt and bring to a boil while stirring. Reduce heat and allow to simmer in a closed pan for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Press two oranges and peel and segment the other two. Combine 4 TBSP orange juice with the corn-starch and set aside.

  • Heat the remaining orange juice with the YOGI® Ginger Orange with Vanilla teabags, then allow to steep for 5 minutes on the lowest heat setting.

  • Remove teabags, add in the starch, heat again while stirring constantly, add orange segments to the sauce and allow to simmer on a low heat for 3 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  • Add the orange sauce to the rice pudding and garnish with orange segments. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and serve hot.
