Have you let yourself be enchanted yet? Your questions regarding YOGI TEA® For the Senses

2019 got off to a great start for us: we launched our new YOGI TEA® For the Senses hot tea range at the very beginning of the year. The wealth of positive feedback we have received from you makes us very grateful and proud. A big thank-you to you all!

Alongside the many compliments, you have of course also sent us some questions about the new, inspiring creations that we want to publish here, as some of you might have asked yourself the same questions...

What are essential oils and how are they obtained?

You probably noticed right away: even when preparing the tea, there’s already a wonderful and intense aroma of lemongrass, lemon, lavender or mint... and the teas somehow feel different on the palate. The reason for this is that the new tea creations contain precious essential oils.
Essential oils are the so-called "essence of plants" - captured in liquid form. They are produced and stored in the different parts of the plant such as blossoms, leaves, but also bark, roots, or resin. They evoke a pleasant, velvety mouth feel for an intense tea experience. These are extracted in different ways, for example through pressing or distillation, depending on the type of oil.

The oils used in our YOGI TEA® For the Senses teas are:

• authentic, as they only contain the oil of the original plant listed.
• pure, as they contain no artificial additives.
• single-origin, as they are not diluted with other oils.

What effects do the essential oils have on the body, mind and spirit?

Essential oils contain the concentrated strength of the entire plant. For YOGI TEA® For the Senses, they were carefully combined with 100% organic herbs and spices from the gardens of nature, in order to create an intensive tea experience that stimulates the senses and supports everyday mindfulness. Studies have shown that the body reacts differently to scents. That is not only due to the memories that are associated with certain scents, but also with the smell receptors that are locate everywhere on the skin and body. Using brain imaging, it can be seen that scents have a stimulating or alternatively calming effect on body and mind.
