Golden milk millet porridge with quick apple compote

Our twist on the ultimate classic comfort breakfast is something new for you to spruce up your morning routine! Hearty, healthy and even heavenly this dish is made using millet, oats and fruit but what makes it extra special is our secret ingredient YOGI TEA® Turmeric Chai for an added flavour boost! Ingredients for 2 portions

Preparation time: 25 minutes

 

  • 300 g cooking apples
  • 1 tbsp sultanas
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 350 ml oat milk
  • 100 g millet
  • 2 tsp YOGI TEA® Turmeric Chai
  • 2 tsp dried cranberries
  • 2 tsp chia seeds

 

 

Preparation

 

  • Chop the apples for the apple compote into small cubes and bring to the boil with the sultanas, cinnamon and 50 ml water. Simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes over a low to medium heat. Stir occasionally.
  • To make the porridge, bring the oat milk to the boil, stir in the millet and add the tea in a tea strainer. Simmer for 15 minutes over a low heat. Remove the tea strainer.
  • Serve the millet porridge topped with the apple compote, chopped cranberries and chia seeds.
