Alfalfa Seed
Alfalfa Leaf is a very mild, food-like medicinal plant. Since it is so mild, it is well tolerated by a wide variety of people, and has many uses. Alfalfa is a rich natural source of supplemental minerals and vitamins - a concentrated nutrient source. It’s a good general herb for pitta. Rich in insoluble fiber, it aids digestive elimination. Since alfalfa is a legume, it is rich in phytoestrogens, notably isoflavones, which have become popular from soy foods, plant substances that have hormonal actions in the body.

Amla Fruit Extract
Amla Fruit or Emblic Fruit (Amalaki) is one of the most useful Ayurvedic medicines, and a strong rejuvenative. It is an exceptionally rich source of vitamin C. Amla is used for a wide variety of conditions involving the digestive tract and its organs. It is the prime general herb for the eyes, and is said to treat premature gray hair. Amla is the basis for the famous Ayurvedic rejuvenative jam, chyavanprash, and the widely used combination herbal remedy, triphala.

Acai Berry
Acai is a Brazilian berry originally from the Amazon Region that is considered to be one of nature's most complete and healthy foods. The acai berry is loaded with antioxidants, anthocyanins (approximately 20 times the amount in red wine), amino acids, essential omegas, fibers and protein. Some recent studies indicate that acai may even fight cancer cells.
Organic Anise Seed
Anise Seed is a tasty culinary herb from the parsley family and is mainly known as a digestive aid. It reduces gas, and provokes efficient digestion. Like other members of this family, anise is a source of phytoestrogens. In this connection, it has a historical use as a galactagogue, an herb that promotes breast milk production. Anise is considered to be mildly energizing. It is used throughout Asia and Europe as an expectorant and antispasmodic, particularly for respiratory and throat imbalances.
Asian Psyllium Seed
Asian Psyllium Seed is a common bulk fiber laxative, with a particularly high content of insoluble fiber, making it a superior soothing laxative. It balances bowel function and relieves pain in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Psyllium's capacity to absorb fluids means that it is useful for treating diarrhea, a common IBS symptom. As it travels through the gut, the mucilage in psyllium creates a soothing benefit, which may relieve cramping. An English study revealed that constipation significantly improved in patients taking psyllium. Eighty-two percent of the subjects had IBS symptom relief. Psyllium seed looks especially promising for weight loss. A triple-blind experiment done in London with non-dieting subjects revealed that the participants felt much fuller than normal one hour after the meal, and ended up eating 15 grams less fat per day than usual. Psyllium is exceptionally effective in managing normal cholesterol levels in the blood.
Astragalus Root
Astragalus Root is categorized as a superior herb in Chinese medicine. It’s called Huang Qi - "yellow energy builder". This gem of Traditional Chinese medicine, astragalus, or milk vetch root, is a member of the legume family. Used as a maintenance tonic and to assist healing, astragalus boosts energy, increases stress adaptation, is particularly antiviral and amplifies the efficiency of just about every type of immune function. Chinese families regularly add astragalus to the family stewpot during the cold season, so that everyone can get a daily immune boost. Japanese herbalists use astragalus, which they call "ogi" for lack of appetite, fatigue, diarrhea, uterus, rectum, or stomach imbalances, loss of feeling in the arms and legs, muscle pain, and blood sugar imbalances. Unlike most Chinese herbs, astragalus actually tastes surprisingly good as a tea, with a velvety texture and a sweet, buttery taste.

Basil Leaf is a well-known culinary herb, with a delicious pungent bite, that promotes proper digestion and reduces gas. Regular use of basil helps to keep the lungs and sinuses clear. This herb nourishes the lungs, throat, voice, eyes, and hair. It is used for water retention, pain, indigestion, lung congestion, and upset stomach. It excels at removing accumulations of toxins in the digestive, urinary, and respiratory tracts. It is unique in being both laxative and astringent, so it purges the intestines, while simultaneously toning the tissues. The fruit has an astringent and sour taste, and a warming energy. It is used in the treatment of a broad array of digestive disorders.
Bilberry Leaf
Bilberry Leaf contains powerful antioxidants that prevent free radical damage to cells and capillaries that can weaken their membranes. The result is stronger, more flexible capillary and cell walls. This is especially important to eye health because the retina is one of the most capillary-rich parts of the body. If capillaries can stretch without breaking or leaking, blood flows better through the capillaries that feed the retina. This results in improved vision. Bilberry also increases function of the color-sensing cones of the eye, improving the brightness of the image and increasing visual acuity. The nerve cells in the retina become more responsive to available light. Bilberry is especially noted for improving night vision. Apparently, the components of bilberry fruit responsible for its benefits are certain polyphenolic flavonols called anthocyanosides. Bilberry is good for just about all things ocular.

Cayenne pepper is diaphoretic and acts as a digestive stimulant. Cayenne and other chilies, especially red varieties, are excellent treatments for depression. Also called Wild Cherry Bark, this bark contains cyanogenic glycosides, especially prunasin. These glycosides, once metabolized in the body, act to suppress spasms in the smooth muscles lining bronchioles, providing cough relief.
Black Cohosh Root
Black Cohosh Root is from a tall perennial herb that grows abundantly in eastern North America. The blackish, cylindrical root of this plant gives this herb its name. Black cohosh has become famous in recent years as a treatment for menopause. It seems to produce an estrogen?like effect that reduces symptoms, such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Many herbalists use black cohosh for PMS symptoms as well. According to many reports it reduces all major symptoms, including anxiety, irritability, fluid retention, and breast pain for many women.

Organic Chamomile Flower
Chamomile Flower is a mild relaxant useful for nervousness, stress and anxiety. As an antispasmodic, it is used for cramps of all types. As a diaphoretic, it promotes perspiration, a time honored method of “sweating it out.” It is frequently used for digestive complaints, particularly gas. This gentle herb is basically good for all constitutional types. A cup of tea with chamomile in it is a time-honored remedy for inducing sleep.
Chaste Tree Berry
Chaste Tree Berry is found growing on riverbanks and nearby foothills around the Mediterranean. With a dark brown, peppercorn-size fruit, it has a pleasant peppermint-like odor. It is a widely used European treatment for all types of PMS symptoms and menstrual irregularities, especially breast tenderness. This herb is sedative and relieves muscle spasms, so women experience significant improvements in irritability, depression and headache.
Chebulic Myrobalan Fruit (Haritaki)
Chebulic Myrobalan Fruit (Haritaki) is the best single herb for generally controlling Vata, and is considered by some to be the single most important Ayurvedic herb. Widely used in Tibetan medicine, it is called the "king of herbs" there. Since Vata promotes constipation, the gentle laxative qualities of haritaki are perfect for balancing that dosha. It nourishes the brain and nerves. It is strongly astringent, contracting tissues, and is therefore used for various skin imbalances and fluid discharges. In Ayurveda, haritaki is called "the mother," and is thought to increase mental/spiritual awareness.
Chinese Amur Cork Tree Bark
Chinese Amur Cork Tree Bark is rich in berberine, the natural chemical making it appear yellow. It is a commonly used cold and bitter Chinese herb to reduce inflammation. It is also used to treat abdominal pain, diarrhea, vaginal or urinary tract swelling, pain in the knees and feet and skin sores.
Chinese Goldenthread Root
Chinese Goldenthread Root is one of, if not the bitterest herb used in Chinese medicine. Goldenthread is a close relative of an extremely bitter and very useful American herb, the well-known goldenseal. It is rich in berberine, the same active ingredient in goldenseal. In Chinese medicine, goldenthread is used to inhibit infections and calm nervous agitation. Its many uses include treatment of skin disorders, intestinal irregularity, tension, and insomnia. It is effective in stimulating bile flow and helps digestion.

Dandelion Root is a celebrated liver cleanser and one of the best remedies for a sluggish, congested, and toxic liver. A clean liver supports the health of the skin. Dandelion root can increase bile flow, causing the liver to produce more bile to send to the gall bladder. It also acts directly on the gall bladder, causing it to contract and release stored bile, benefiting liver congestion, bile duct imbalances, and gallstones.
Devil’s Claw Root
Devil’s Claw Root is from a plant, native to southern Africa, whose fruits look like a hooked, gnarled claw. Historically, African people have employed devil's claw for a wide range of conditions, from digestive difficulties to joint conditions. It has also been widely used by Europeans for the same reasons. Harpagoside and other iridoid glycosides in the tuber may be responsible for the anti-inflammatory and analgesic benefits.

Dong Quai Root is the most respected general tonic in Chinese medicine. Women use it to strengthen their reproductive organs, regulate the menstrual cycle and regulate the blood throughout the body, but especially in the pelvic area. Dong quai balances PMS symptoms including breast tenderness, constipation and dizziness. For menopausal symptoms, women use dong quai for hot flashes, pelvic pain, insomnia, mood changes, and vaginal dryness. Fo-Ti Root
Fo-Ti Root is native to China, where it continues to be widely grown. Once it has been boiled in a special black bean liquid, it is considered a superior tonic medicine, according to traditional Chinese medicine. The Chinese common name, he-shou-wu, is from the name of a famous herbalist whose infertility and general weakness was supposedly cured by the herb. Traditional Chinese medicine uses fo-ti to treat premature aging, weakness, vaginal discharges, angina pectoris, premature hair loss and graying and impotence. Scientific evidence shows that it is a potent protector of oxidation damage to the heart, normalizes cholesterol levels and decreases joint discomfort.
Garcinia Cambogia Fruit Extract
Garcinia Fruit contains the active ingredient hydroxyciteic acid (HCA), which promotes weight loss. A placebo-controlled study in 1999 combined guggul extract with Garcinia cambogia extract and tyrosine. Over six weeks, twenty overweight persons experienced a significant decrease in body fat mass and average body weight. The subjects lost body fat, but not lean mass. Fatigue went down, and there were no adverse effects.

Gardenia Flower is a bitter, cold herb that is used for excessive heat and swelling. It is calming, and especially known to relieve restlessness.
Organic Ginger Root
Ginger Root is known as the universal medicine in Ayurveda. It aids digestion and, and is one of the best herbs for nausea. It relieves spasms and menstrual cramps, and promotes menstruation. Ginger helps to regulate blood sugar both by stimulating pancreas cells and by lowering lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides) in the blood. Historically, it was one of the most respected herbs for joint health, especially for aging joints. It has relatively high calcium and iron content. Ginger increases peripheral circulation, so is used clinically for cold hands and feet. Being diaphoretic, it treats some symptoms by promoting sweating.

Ginkgo Leaf benefits a very wide array of brain, nerve, and circulatory conditions, including age related memory loss. Primarily, it increases blood flow to the brain and central nervous system and promotes peripheral circulation. It is powerfully antioxidant and protects nerve cells, leading to the conclusion that it may help with diseases of aging, especially in the central nervous and cardiovascular systems. Ginkgo is a mood elevator, especially for those with reduced brain circulation, particularly elderly people. It relieves PMS symptoms.

Asian (Panax) Ginseng Root
Ginseng is the most respected tonic herb in the world. It has a long-term anti-stress effect and improves physical and mental performance, memory, and reaction time. It enhances mood, relieves hangover symptoms and improves alcohol clearance. Ginseng improves short-term stamina, blood circulation to the heart, and balances cholesterol and blood sugar. It can even lessen the symptoms of menopause, including vaginal atrophy. Oriental (Panax ginseng) and American (Panax quinquefolius) are almost identical species that happen to grow on different continents and are therapeutically equivalent. Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus), commonly know as Siberian ginseng, is not really a ginseng and has a long-term stimulant effect.

Goji Berry
The Goji Berry is found in more than 40 different varieties and may be the most nutritionally rich fruit on the planet. Grapeseed Extract
Grapeseed is rich in procyanidins and gallates, antioxidants that combine to scavenge free radical and protect proteins and DNA from damage. According to scientists, procyanidins found in grapeseed are 20 times more efficient than vitamin C and 50 times more efficient than vitamin E at scavenging free radicals. Procyanidins also enhance the activity of vitamin C as an antioxidant. Grapeseed contains the highest concentration of procyanidins yet discovered.
Green Tea Leaf Extract
Green Tea enhances immune function. The active ingredients (polyphenols) promote immunity from many different pathogens, including protozoa, viruses and bacteria. Green tea fights free radicals, the chemicals now thought to be the most important cause of cell damage and aging. It is a more potent antioxidant than broccoli, carrots, spinach, or strawberries. Green tea strongly benefits oral health- it kills the bacteria responsible for tooth decay and blocks the attachment of the bacteria associated with dental caries to the teeth. With a host of beneficial effects for the cardiovascular system, it has been shown to balance total cholesterol and LDL, as well as triglycerides, and to support a healthy ratio of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol.
